Hello everyone,
It has been my experience that things get done faster when posted here.
So...
I have numerous customer .ca domain names in my Orders in Progress section
that say "Waiting For Registry Response". These domain names are the so
called .ca blocked orders dating back to 3/27/01. This functionality does
not work. I have tested it myself. The OpenSRS system shows the domain names
as available and takes the orders (These domain names are the ones where
someone owns xyz.ca and someone else wants to register xyz.ab.ca). So I end
up taking these orders and then not actually being able to give them the
domain name because the process doesn't work. I am really confused as to
whose fault it is.. From what I've read, it looks like OpenSRS's system is
not sending out the required emails to the correct email addresses for
confirmation. If it doesn't work, the system should at least show the domain
names as unavailable so that the orders aren't taken. Also OpenSRS changed
the way this worked and never notified us. I found out that these domain
names could be registered after a concerned customer called me wondering how
we are taking orders for domain names that have been reserved by CIRA and
which were previously shown on our site as not registerable.
Another problem is that a user registers xyz.ca and then the same user wants
to register xyz.ab.ca, it goes into the blocker process as opposed to
registering the domain name for that user since it is using the same
profile. This use to work previously, but now doesn't.
Anyone have any ideas on any of these things?
Thanks,
Nitin Agarwal
