Nitin,
We worked very hard to create a process whereby you can process "blocked"
domains (according to CIRA's rules) and follow the appropriate procedure.
We are aware that this system is not working exactly as expected and are
striving hard to repair the problem.
The address some of your issues below - you state we changed the way this
worked and did not notify you. There were announcements made near the end
of January (this process became "live" on January 29th, 2001) explaining
the changes and implications. This is why previously unavailable domains
were being accepted. Additionally, the system will ONLY send out emails
once our Customer Service department has received appropriate permissions
from all 'blocking' parties (a CIRA limitation). We cannot send in an
order to CIRA until we have made sufficient steps to ensure that all
pertinent parties are aware of the intended domain purchase. We place the
onus on the reseller to obtain proof of acceptance from blocking owners,
and once we have said proof we process the order.
These orders, admittedly, are less prevalent than the rest of our
registration traffic. We are looking for proof of domain submission
without email verification (please send all said proofs to
[EMAIL PROTECTED] - where we can at least consolodate these instances
and improve our system).
To address your further issue - due to CIRA's method of interpreting
domain availabilty (whether blocked by other parties, or blocked by your
own previously acquired registrations) it is exceedingly difficult to
differentiate between a legitimate blocking domain and a domain that
rightfully belongs to the original registrant. We are working on
qualifying this to the point where the system can act automatically.
All I ask is that you be patient. CIRA registrant/registrar/registration
rules are not necessarily compatible with the wholesale method in which we
typically offer domain registrations. This problem WILL be solved, in a
manner that is acceptable by all parties (you, your customer, CIRA, and
ourselves).
