Well...to that i say caveat emptor. If you are the tm holders then clearly
that individual is a squatter...or has a legit claim...if they are a
squatter...looks like they are out some serious cash...as for legit
claim...it is an unfortunate event (one which we cannot prevent...)
To be completely honest, I do not think the registry thought about the
overlap that much...your comment is right on the money in my opinion - it
would be easier IMHO to have the IP Claim Period end before the start of
pre-reg
Other than that - any other burning issues from anyone re: info or biz
launch? Speak now....or wait later :)

I see. I think I did see something to this affect come across, sorry it
slipped my mind. It still appears to erode the basis upon which the IP
claim (and prices) are based. Where before it was a good "pre-emptive
legal action" in the sense that it basically told everyone, "you try
for this name, you're going to have to deal with us if you get it"
which would in all likeliehood ward off most if not all incursions
into your legitimate namespace.
Now, for example, some guy could buy a bunch of lottery tickets on
easyDNS.BIZ tomorrow, and because we aren't going to enter our IP
claim until the end of the week, he will not get notified of our claim
BEFORE he already makes his buy.
If he know going into it that we had filed an IP claim, he may not even
bother (hopefully). Now, the IP Claim process is a bit of a lottery
now too.
