Hi,
Once selection takes place, will we be able to transfer
successfully registered domains between profiles, using the
standard method in manage.cgi? If so, I plan to submit the
tickets all on the same profile, and then move any
successfully registered domains to the correct profiles
using a script.
My bigger concern is the actual pre-registration interface
in the RWI. Having to submit orders five or less at a time
is going to make things really difficult. The best way I
can figure is to just submit all orders one at a time, even
if the same person is buying tickets for 5 different names.
At least then it would be easier to automate - a lot easier
then trying to split large orders into groups of five.
I think the obvious solution to both these problems
(profiles and submission) is for OpenSRS to come up with a
"flat file" system similar to the one used for ML Bulk
Orders. I assume there are reasons why they haven't already
done so, since IMHO the .biz launch is MUCH more important
the ML one. A flat file system would make it much easier on
the RSPs, and I assume reduce the strain on OpenSRS's
servers. It would also make it faster, which will help
those of us who are waiting to authorize funds on our
customers cards before submitting the ticket orders to
OpenSRS. If your read my earlier post regarding the new
timeline, then you probably understand why I feel that being
able to submit the ticket orders as quickly as possible
would be very helpful.

and biz
domains?
The reason for this is the new requirements for contact
information (.info
phone numbers are specifically formatted, etc) and the
additional
information we had to gather.
Once you get to realtime volumes and bulk implementation you
should be able
to associate domains with previously registered (or pended)
.biz or .info
domains.
