Ok folks - we have a contact email address to ICANN official as well as US Dept of
Commerce and would like to help in mounting CONSUMER complaints regarding
these anti-consumer policies.

OpenSRS/Tucows is taking their part in fighting both Register.Com and Network
Solutions on their new policy of requiring domain owner to approve on their side when
transfer of domain is initiated.

About 30% of our transfer requests (or more!!!) now fail due to these new policies
of competing registrars. I believe ICANN will listen to mounting consumer compaints!
Just about every customer whose transfer failed because they did not realize they
also have to approve message from NSI or Register.com or did not approve within
the 3 day limit gets genuinely frustrated and would happily join class action or
protest
if they have a venue to do so!

Here is where we can help. Just like we have created protest form against NSI hoarding
expired domains (see http://www.eyeondomain.com/nsiform.html ), we are in process of
creating one to send consumer protests to ICANN and US Dept of commerce on this issue.

If you have an email address you know of that we should send these protests to - LET ME
KNOW OFF THE LIST - so we make sure to send these protests to the right officials.

We will post the form and links to download within one week.

Cheers
