Good luck.
I have a domain I want to register for a customer that's been expired in
NSI's database since May 1999. I called and complained to them about it
last month, and was told I had two choices; either I could pay for two
years of registration for the privilege of deleting the old record so I
could register a new one, or I could have them remove it the following
week in an automated purge of deleted records to which it would be added.
So every few days for the past two weeks I've dedicated half an hour to
sitting on hold on NSI's 800 number, but haven't managed to get through
to a human before something else came up.
With all the long distance NSI must be paying on their 800 numbers, it's
no wonder they keep their prices so high. :-/
