Exactly. They are losing ground fast, and resellers are a quick fix
to that problem.

But what is their long term commitment to you as a partner?

Are they committed 100% to a lasting long term reseller program, or
just a quick way to build their customer database over the next couple
years?

After the way they screwed their ISP and Business partners a couple
years ago, there is no way I'd trust them. A couple dollars a name
isn't worth it, nor would I trust my customers domains with them.

They are still the single leading registrar for hijacked domains,
after all. The Mail-From security hole was one that they knew about
for YEARS, for example, and had thousands upon thousands of names
hijacked in that way, but it wasn't until the media coverage started
of it and they were getting a lot of public pressure that they decided
to fix it with what was a very simple fix, a double-verification
requirement. The current problems they also know about, and have for
a long time, but still we hear about hijackers taking advantage of it.

How many years will all their customers' domains be at risk of being
hijacked or actually hijacked until they close it?

$2 isn't worth the risk.
