A lot of RSPs include the domain as part of a wider service ie take a
webhosting package and the domain registration/renewal is included in that
cost.

I can see some Registrants ending up paying twice for a domain - if another
RSP contacts them and offers a cheap renewal deal.

We've had customers paying NetSol after transferring to OpenSRS - just
because NetSol sent them an invoice and they were paranoid that they might
risk losing the domain.. I wouldn't want to see that situation repeated
amongst resellers.

If one of our customers wants to pay another reseller for the renewal of the
domain, then they have to transfer away. Otherwise they are getting services
from us for free.

Hmm,
it's kind of a wierd one. But, here's an e.g., say i charge 30$ per year
for domains retail and flamingo joe only charges $10. Theoretically, my
customer could go to him and renew with him for $10. while i am still the
rsp.

it's kind of intrusive.

other thoughts?
