In case anyone's interested, I've set up a simple robot at [EMAIL PROTECTED]
which can be emailed a list of domains (in just about any format), and
will return the same list along with expiry dates, admin POCs and
current registrars. It knows how to strip off URL cruft and /^www\./
and other things that don't look like 2nd level domain names in order to
facilitate quick cut-and-paste from other sources (ie. NSI domain handle
reports). It supports gTLD, .ca and .uk domains at the moment; if
there's demand (and stable WHOIS servers), I may add other ccTLDs.
It doesn't know about *all* registrars' whois formats yet, so if you get
wacky report results (most likely corrupt date or missing POC), email me
privately and I'll fix it.
And if you could avoid sending it more than 50 or 60 domains at a time,
it would be a good thing. Some registrars get uppity if I generate too
many requests per second to their WHOIS servers. ;-)
