We use our own perl apache module. We only use OpenSRS code to provide the
management interface to customers. It was done in a couple of days by our
programmer and everything related to registration and renewal is done via
it. Basically it's a client sending querys that get a yes or no from
opensrs server and does what it has to do internally (Billing, sending
confirm etc..) . Using your in-house code, IMO gives you great flexibility
and with OpenSRS specs, must not be very hard to do for someone familiar
with perl. E-mail templates gives no security for payment informations and
tend to confuse customers much more than a simple web page in one, two or
even three steps to make it easy. We save a lot of time compared to one year
ago when we were dealing everyday by phone with customers to explain how
they should reply, that they must turn off html output ............ Tech
support is also money taken directly from domains profit. We also sell
webhosting and not having to submit templates , make our system in one step.
Domain registration and hosting order in one same form. It's just the
product that change. Today's customers like it easy. It gives them
confidence and loyalty to your business. (The guy next door can't call your
customers to tell them that with them, they just have to click the
lil'button to get it done)

Best regards,
