Agreed. One extremely worthwhile discussion list I was on was actually
shut down and deleted by the list moderators after one very bitter
and hateful post by a list veteran on the day of the attacks. It was
such a blow to all concerned that it literally killed the list, these are
some people I've known online since 1994-95. It was sad.
I think everyone should try to make a concerted effort to keep comments
to appropriate forums, the armchair politicizing to a minimum and
re-read everything they are about to post at least one extra time before
sending it and really *think* about what they're saying.
