Actually Darryl Green had a good idea; de-dupe early yet keep the queue open
another day or two. Those that added .info's after that would operate in the
dark or be prevented from adding domains that were already taken.
As I understand it, though, there were some techical issues with this concept
and it didn't look like it could be done.

Why can't Tucows close the queue and do the de-duplicate a little earlier,
so that
the resellers can know how much they need to put into their account? It's
very annoying that we don't know how many of our pre-reg can pass the
de-dup and may loose chance if the money is not enough.
For example, I pre-reg 2000 .info names, and I have no idea to put money
to cover 50, 100, 200, or 500 names. If I know the number, I can remit the
money by credit card within hours.
Please consider this and make our life easier. Thanks.
