re biz ,info cgi

This may be a silly question but I am having trouble understanding why there is .info and .biz templates and cgis in the code.because in  the test environment the reg_system templates and scripts seem to handle it correctly and send confirmations out using the right templates.I tried several times and registered "in test" .info and .biz      Maybe I am missing something here can someone explain this .do I actually have to have biz and info calls done from a separate place when I go live?
