Hi,

The *.whois.rfc-ignorant.org hostnames mentioned by [EMAIL PROTECTED]
are not whois servers. The domain whois.rfc-ignorant.org is used as a
blacklist used to identify those domains that do not provide full and
correct whois information. Two of the country code top level domains
you mention have no whois server and the thrid provides limited
information hence their inclusion on the list. For example
uk.whois.rfc-ignorant.org exists (i.e. resolves to an IP address)
because the whois information for *.uk domains provides no contact
details.

By contract the domain com.whois.rfc-ignorant.org does not exist (i.e.
is not blacklisted) as the whois server is capable of providing full
information. However certain domains within .com that have invalid or
missing information are listed, for example
networksolutions.com.whois.rfc-ignorant.org due to them using an
invalid email address ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) for the admin
contact.

To answer your original question a bit less cryptically:

  For .co.uk (and .org.uk, net.uk, ltd.uk and plc.uk) domains the
whois server you need to query is whois.nic.uk which gives you some
basic information such as registrant and nameservers. Nominet who
run it plan to include more information including registrant contact
  details in the future.

For .tv domains there is no whois server, you can only get domain
registration details from the http://www.tv/ website which includes
  contact information.

For .co domains there is no whois server but you can look up domains
on https://www.nic.co/ to see who has registered them. This site is
in Spanish and provides very little information from lookups.

HTH,
Mark.
