Gents, ladies... Most here will notice that I treat list servs with a carefree candor. I don't take an uptight approach to posts.
If you are like me and I'm sure you are, work is intense. By the time I read a post on a list serv I'm a bit ready to unwind. I don't take things personal here, neither should others. :) Yesterday I was told "this" is what the list is for, and "why" the list exist. I know the obvious. What I get a kick out of is that despite the point of my post, I got an off topic reply each time and not one person covered my point. I wrote (typed) please don't make an anti-statement because I wanted any replies to stay on topic. There is a lot of "reading between the lines here" and that is cool but I'd like on occasion for folks to actually respond to a point rather than find a reason to disagree. If anyone cares to, read yesterdays post again and flame me on topic. :) Otherwise, off topic replies will generally make me laugh. In case anyone missed it, my post was regarding: SUPPORT FOR NEW RESELLERS And for those at Tucows that did reply in part thanks. :), however a list serv is a good thing but not a panacea. If Tucows was my company my plan would include a checklist of things I'd want to get each new reseller through. A ramping down over the course of a couple months would be another goal. I'm sure Tucows resources are excellent but taxed, that is why I'm a believer in planning and setting goals. A major reason for Tucows success is growth. I've been taught in business that you want slow controlled growth. To me, 200 solid resellers is better than 2000, of which 1000 or more are time-sinks. A self sufficient reseller would be my aim. Anyhow, <joke>all you bastards got me serious for 60 seconds</joke>, I hope you are all happy. <laugh> For emphasis "A list serv is a good thing but not a panacea" (just wanted to cut through the haze) Regards, Lars Hindsley SpyProductions Achieve Web Success http://www.spyproductions.com vox: 302.369.3060 fax: 302.369.6040 -----------------------------------
