Folks, The approximately final notes from the registrar teleconference of January 9, 2002 are available at http://www.dnso.org/clubpublic/registrars/Arc01/msg01798.html - this post also includes a link to a quick analysis that I completed on where the other registrars positions lie and a few other interesting tidbits.
Also, David McGuire from NewsBytes has a penned a decent article on the story - his piece can be found at http://www.newsbytes.com/news/02/173564.html The interesting pieces can be found towards the end of the article where he discusses the ICANN staff reaction to the issue. It is reassuring that the staff are up to speed on our discussions and seem to be prepared to intervene if Verisign is unable to garner significant public support for the WLS proposal. Lastly, I have updated the issues page at http://www.byte.org/rc-deletes that provides a decent backdrop to the issue, links to the various proposals as well as some insight into the discussions that led up to the Dec. WLS proposal by Verisign. If you have any questions, you know where to find me ;) Thanks, -rwr
