Two answers to this...

1) We typically know about VeriSign outages MUCH sooner than other
registries, so we also use this time to do some maintainance (if required)
2) The majority of our traffic is CNO traffic.  When other suppliers go
down, things still run fairly smoothly (with some impact).  When CNO goes
down, things don't run too smoothly.  I'm currently working on a project
that will prevent this on a go forward basis.  More to come.
