The upgrade guide could use a little more, ummm, detail to make it useful 
for this purpose.

For example, the sole comment in the 2.49 upgrade guide about client 
changes is "Nothing significant to report, sir!". However, the diff file 
from 2.48 reveals major items like:

>+      Introduced initial .name manageability into MWI.
>+      - ability to manage .name domain nameservers and 
>+          forwarding email address (if it was purchased)

... and a number of extremely useful bug fixes. These should be mentioned 
in the upgrade guide if it's intended to be used by technical people (or, 
if pressed for time, a simple note informing people that a number of 
changes have been made, and instructing them to see the diff file, would 
be helpful).
