If netsol says you have only paid them for one year, they can very easily place your domain on registry hold if you do not pay their renewal fee at the end of the year. If you transfer to an ethical registrar *prior* to the end of netsol's year, the year's you paid for at the pre-netsol registrar will magically reappear at the post-netsol registrar. By the way, I have heard reports that a few other registrars operate similar to netsol in not recognizing transferred in years. I have not confirmed these reports. I did however get authoritive confirmation from netsol about their policy via the public domain-policy mailing list while it was active. Verisign shut down that mailing list and deleted the archive without any warning last year. Feel free to come to your own conclusion about why they shut it down.
