Hi all, My opinion (and mine only) is that Tucows should take the lead in whatever action has and can be taken, i will gladly allow then to take the mullah out of my account, or make a seperate payment for it, however they stand to loose as much as we. With all due respect, we are providing Tucows with a healthy margin on their domain sales and if anything, one conclusion VGRS made in their stories (i have no other word for it) was correct, the market for new domains in finite, where as the market for 2nd hand domains is infinite.
Let's be honest here, Tucows has inhouse lawyers, a strong lobbyist, more then enough financial resources and the "cloud" to do this, they are capable with our help to reach millions and millions of people all over the globe, through OpenSRS as well as through Tucows repositories. I am pretty sure that if they take the lead in this, it will in the end gain the momentum against VGRS we currently need and will bring them more goodwill then anything else they can do. there are over 2000 resellers which means that with little means from the smaller ones and larger means from the larger ones we can at least raise several hundred thousand dollars and with help from Tucows we have basically more then enough funds to "pick this fight" Instead of waiting for the fight to come to the resellers, where in the end it will end up, let's be honest WLS will never in our life time bring us one penny, we better brng the fight to VGRS. We can prove a lot of wrongs, where they can not prove rights, and a case like this will automatically catch the eye of all press and thus make a good commercial move to. It those that have some influence in politics ever were looking for a gravey train, here is one, they will jump aboard. I can understand Tucows not (yet) coming out with an official stance, but would appreciate some input from f.i. the Scot's on their thinking, which does not needs to be similar to the official position of Tucows. regards abel ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mike Allen" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "George Kirikos" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Sunday, March 24, 2002 12:47 PM Subject: Re: Verisign proceeds with WLS, despite opposition > Hi George, > > I not being a lawyer either, will not take all responsibility.
