I suggest having at LEAST 75% available (if not more). It really depends on the types of names you're trying to get. chuckdaminato.us will likely be a sure bet, sex.us will not. > > > > b) Do you collect the fee from your customers up front, and > > then refund if they don't get the name, or do you take the > > payment info and not collect the funds unless and until the > > name is successfully registered? All depends on how you'd prefer to handle the money. You should be clear up front that the pre-reg does not guarantee the domain name. You can float to your trusted clients, hold funds from the unknown clients. Tucows will be notifying everyone on successful registrations as they occur to assist in the process. The exact methodology is to be announced. > > > > c) Either way, let's assume that I put way more money on > > account at Tucows than I actually needed. Am I stuck? Well, it saves you from having to make another payment later ;) I'm not sure about excess funds, there may be a manner to retrieve this if absolutely necessary. If you're enabled on cc payments, you should be able to monitor your account and react if necessary > > > > >> Amazing that "documentation" thing we've been doing, eh? > > It's nice indeed.
