Yes - we see it as well customer just renewed domain at Verisign and the expiration date dissappeared
I have seen other registrars taking the step of removing expiration date since they are attempting to protect themselves from Verisign and Registry of America's predatory renewal mail notices. Last I have heard Verisign claims there were 'some errors' in their database that caused some exp dates not appear,... http://www.icann.org/nsi/icann-raa-04nov99.htm Paragraph F.1.f. 1. At its expense, Registrar shall provide an interactive web page and a port 43 Whois service providing free public query-based access to up-to-date (i.e. updated at least daily) data concerning all active SLD registrations sponsored by Registrar in the registry for the .com, .net, and .org TLDs. The data accessible shall consist of elements that are designated from time to time according to an ICANN-adopted policy. Until ICANN otherwise specifies by means of an ICANN-adopted policy, this data shall consist of the following elements as contained in Registrar's database: f. The expiration date of the registration; However as Verisign demonstrated, they do not give a care about some ICANN rules or regulations anyways I believe you might see whole lot of domains being "protected" this way. cheers Genie ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ivan" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Wednesday, April 03, 2002 11:48 PM Subject: New Verisign tactic with whois? > Hi List. > > Ok, I gained a new client last week and when I looked up his domains, they > had expired.
