.co.uk registrations are not real-time - the Nominet registry works with
Email templates, so our system is asynchronous.  We send the email
registration request, and have to wait for a response.  If you get the
domain, we keep the $13, if the domain wasn't registered (for whatever
reason, we supply that if that's the case) we return the $13

We find that the Nominet "automaton" (email system) returns requests
(registrations, nameserver and contact information updates) anywhere from 5
minutes to several hours (you know how email can be sometime), hence the
"Registration in Progress".

Notification is sent if this fails for whatever reason.
