to Chuck, Allan
I have a question concerning the .info LR2:
Are there any special requirements / additional payments required
to participate for the registrar (like Tucows) to take part at .info LR2?
The reason why I am asking:
It seems that very few registrars will take part at the .info LR2
(offering .info LR2 to the public)
When looking to the list of available names, in my opinion only very few names
(about 1000 ?) will be interesting for the majority(99%) of registrants.
(lots of domains are just city names from Europe)
In case there are no additional payments required by the registrar,
I expect, that about 100 registrars (not offering public registrations)
will submit very short lists which lets say 500 domains each, to grab
the 'good domain names' on behalf of their own (for later resale)
The remaining 10 registrars like Tucows, offering a public registration
queue, will submit big lists with perhaps 10000 domains each.
So finally the chances to be able to register a good domain name
by one of the resellers is almost < 0,01%, because the above mentioned
100 registrars with very short lists, will already have already taken
almost all 'good' domain names during the round robin process.
