OK. Firstly, a couple of years back, my company "bought" a generic keyword from you people. Immediately once you'd charged the credit card, you then wrote us telling that you were no longer accepting short generic keywords. We didn't like the idea of you changing the rules part way though the game (akin to the DNS authority suddenly deciding to not allow domain names with a "d" in them) so we asked for a refund. You ignored all such requests. That told us alot about your business ethics. Classic bait & switch. I wonder how many small businesses you annoyed in your desperation for revenue? Secondly, your exposed a WHOLE BUNCH of credit card data on the Net, for all the hackers to collect. That told us alot about the ability of your tech dept. Thirdly, you did a deal with Microsoft where you have to pay them more than you make each quarter. That's real dotcom economics if I ever heard one. Were you on crack when you "negotiated" that one? Fourthly, you entered into partnerships with Microsoft AND Verisign and now expect sympathy from us, when we're busy arguing which one of them really is the Antichrist. Fifthly, you tried to route around a perfectly good system - the DNS, all in the name of personal profit. (gimme the old Netscape days when if you typed something into the address bar, they plonked .com on the end of it and left you to it). Sixthly, you came out of meetings with Microsoft sporting a bleeding anus, and now complain as though you weren't expecting them to give you a good rogering? Haven't you studied what Microsoft do to their "partners"? In short, all I can say is ha ha ha. Good job. Imagine where you'd be now if you spent all that VC money writing a kick-arse web browser to kill off Microsoft's browser monopoly. No "partnership" required. No sore botty either. Oh well. Enjoy your last 15 minutes of fame on FC on Monday. -- Paul Gordon, IQ Management Corporation
