I've been fighting w/the NSI reps all night long (I work the 3rd shift).
Here's a summary:

Domain expires on June 23rd
NetSol's records currently have it in an "Overdue" or "Unpaid" status
because it is currently less than 30 days away from being renewed. At
least, that's the reason I was given - however I was told the SAME THING on
the 9th of this month, which was well before the 30 day deadline.

Regardless of that, it still remains that the domain is less than 30 days
from renewal, which means that it can't be transferred due to "Network
Solutions Service Agreement". I read the service agreement...it says:
***********
2. Fees and Payment. Initial domain name registrations, and domain name
registrations that have passed the registration agreement's anniversary
date, must be in a paid status to transfer, delete, modify, or otherwise to
request VeriSign to affect the domain name record or to provide domain name
services. Domain name registrations in an unpaid status are routinely
deleted on a regular basis.

***********

But the interesting part is that we haven't reached the "agreement's
anniversary date" have we?

AND ANOTHER THING - one of the reps had the gall to suggest I simply let it
expire, then when it gets deleted from the registry I can register it via
another registrar. I told him that he doesn't know his own company's
practices, because that could take months or years. Both the rep and his
supervisor claimed that it wasn't "their' policy and THE registry was
responsible for that. Does anyone have any idea what they were talking
about? If they can't tell when a domain will be deleted, how can OpenSRS?

Jamie Price
