The EPP drafts don't make any explicit statements about the term variables other than to note that they can be specified in terms of years or months (I wonder why not days now that I think about it...)...anyways, the specific implementations are governed by registry policy (years not months or day in the case of all TLDs that I'm aware of) and can thus be influenced outside of the standards process. -rwr
