Hi All,

I've had a client that has been trying to transfer a domain to us from
Register.com and was having problems--this is the third or fourth attempt. I
found out why she was having problems and wanted to share in case you came
across the same.

The first problem was one of timing: Register.com is only giving them three
days from the time they send out the transfer away confirmation message
(which, of course, tries to confuse them into renewing).

The second problem was that the link they send takes you to a page that has
the content necessary to approve the transfer pushed so far to the right (at
least on IE that I can confirm and most likely the AOL browser) that it may
appear to the user that they get to a "blank" page. It looks like this page
will definitely show no sign of content at 800x600 resolution other than the
scroll bar at the bottom of the browser and shows just a hint of there being
content on the right side at 1024x768. It looks like they are possibly
trying to confuse novice registrants to prevent a transfer away.

Are there ICANN rules regarding the time that the losing Registrar must give
the Registrant before denying a transfer request? I seem to recall
something about five days but I can't find a reference to it.
