Enom will instead consider the listed technical
address to be authoritative for the domain.
This is certainly handy, but does it break any rules? If not, would
OpenSRS consider implementing something like this? It would sure make
things easier when dealing with really obsolete contact records.
In my opinion this is against any rules and it should not be done.
Lots of registrants choose a local reseller. He will often also provide
the internet access = the reseller will provide the email for the registrant.
So consider the case, a reseller wants to steal a domain:
This would be quite simple: After some time, the reseller tells the registrant, that
he must change the email (of the registrant) for 'technical reasons'.
In most cases the registrant will not be aware, that the email
at the whois should be changed too. Perhaps the registrant is additionally relocating.
So 1 year later the whois contact will be wrong (no valid email/no valid address).
Because in most cases the reseller is the technical contact, he may now
transfer the domain, and the registrant will not receive any message.
