It works now, but the maximum term of a registration can never exceed 3,650
days. If there are ten days left on a registration, adding 3,650 to it will
push the domain past the maximum limit. Unfortunately, there is no way for
registrars to tell the registry to simply add 3,640 days (topping up the
renewal), so we are effectively left with two options - register the name up
front for ten years or only renew it for nine years at a time. Ten year
renewals are much like unicorns. They might exist, but no one has ever seen
one.
