I wanted to forward some mention of these items to you all for your review and, hopefully, support. As you know I don't do this very often (I think this is the first time), but I really believe this stuff is extremely important and has impact on all of our businesses and business in general.
A couple notes. First, these are the first efforts I have seen to try and stop the steamroller that is the content owners (NOT the content creators in most cases) as they roll over users. What bothers me the most is watching content owners try and legislate solutions in order to protect anachronistic business models. Second, these are not, IMHO, US-only issues. I am Canadian (no beer commercial jokes!). Much of the content, technology and Intellectual Property in general that I, and we all, consume comes from the US. This is a global issue. Weigh in if you feel the same. Thanks. Regards Elliot Noss Tucows inc.
