While I'm complaining about transfer messaging, can we please fix this in the transfer message sent by e-mail:
"If this is the first time that you've heard of this, do not accept the transfer until you are satisfied that the request is legitimate.Thank you." There is a missing space between the two sentences. In fact, why don't I just go nuts with nitpicking, since I'm here: > A request has been received to transfer the domain XXXX > to Tiger Technologies, an authorized reseller of the registrar > Tucows. This request was entered at Tue Oct 15 14:32:13 2002 by > XXXX. Note that your nameservers will not change > as a direct result of this transfer. That last sentence would perhaps be better moved down below, where it talks about what *will* be changed (contact information, etc.). > This acknowledgement of transfer will be processed by Tucows Inc, Why "acknowledgement of transfer"? Is that a legal phrase? Just "transfer" would be fine. > a ICANN accredited registrar on behalf of Tiger Technologies. > If this is a valid request and you wish to approve this transfer, > please visit the following url and follow the instructions: > > https://rr-n1-tor.opensrs.net/transfers/index.cgi?rid=61 > > You will need to enter the following information to complete the > transfer: > Domain Name: XXXX > Transfer Key: XXXX > > If you do not wish to approve this transfer, you may simply ignore > this message and the request will be cancelled, or you can use the I was going to nitpick about the spelling of "cancelled", which is spelled "canceled" in the US -- but "cancelled" is the proper Canadian spelling, so I'll let it slide :-) > Domain Name and Transfer Key above to cancel the transfer. There are extra spaces before and after "cancel". > Accepting this transfer will change the registrar of record for > your domain from its current registrar, to Tucows/OpenSRS; it may The comma after "registrar" is unnecessary. > also change some of the contact information. If you are receiving > this email, you should have initiated, or at least been aware of > this request already. If this is the first time that you've heard The "If you are receiving" sentence has some tortured syntax ("already" shouldn't modify "initiated", and it needs either one more or one less comma). It would read better as: "If you are receiving this email, you should have initiated this request, or been aware that someone else did so." > of this, do not accept the transfer until you are satisfied that > the request is legitimate.Thank you. Missing space, as mentioned. Thanks for listening, OpenSRS folks. I try to restrain my pedantic urges, but this has been bugging me for over a year. ------------------------------------ Robert L Mathews, Tiger Technologies
