You know, I just can't remember what the criteria was to be listed on the http://referrals.tucows.com list. Can someone from OpenSRS remind us what it currently takes to be listed?
We're listed on the calist.html one, and I remember having to request to be added to it. We're pretty small compared to some resellers I suppose, still, with 546 domain registrations under our belt, I think we know what we're doing well enough to service any clients Tucows referred to us. Maybe there should be some minimum guidelines in order to get on the list (as far as site content goes), but I definitely, do not think that how much you spend should be a criteria at all. I'll bet we have better support than some of the larger companies do. I honestly would not expect a lot more sales just from being on that list. Where I've found it helpful though is when a customer is confused by the wholesale business model. They'll see tucows listed as their registrar on the whois and wonder why their dealing with us. Being able to show them the /calist.html has been very helpful in calming their fears that we're not legit. I was going to start this up on Monday already but I got caught up in work and forgot about it. Just to refresh memories there are two referral lists we "ALL" want to be listed on regardless of how much we spend with OpenSRS :) Namely: http://referrals.tucows.com/ and http://www.tucows.ca/calist.html Mitch -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] On Behalf Of Mark Sent: January 8, 2003 10:07 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Referral list Since we had a nice break from discussing the referral list, This is me sparking up the topic once again, now that all the relevant people should be back from vacation. I'm assuming those involved have seen our posts regarding this I wonder if the combined buying power of the smaller resellers outweighs the buying power of the few large ones... Mark
