With all due respect (and not to sound argumentative), just because you
haven't dealt with them doesn't mean they don't exist.

I would also question your definition of 'significance'. If a business is
thriving, however small or unknown it may be, regionally or globally, it is
significant.

And just because I have a .ca (because the .com was already taken) doesn't
mean that I have restricted my home market in any way. In some ways,
identifying my locale has helped business. But I do business with folks from
far and wide: Australia, Indonesia, Philippines, Germany, Switzerland just
to name a few.
