Although we had an email delivery problem last week, it is vital to point
out that the system that supports our Domain Registration email processes is
completely isolated from the infrastructure we have built specifically for
our new email product. These infrastructures differ significantly in many
respects.

Domain Registration E-mail System
================================
This system is designed as a "Mail Cannon" for sending a large volume of
email to our Registrants and Resellers.

Some key details about this system :

-this system is completely isolated from our E-Mail Service infrastructure.
-used solely for outbound mail delivery in relation to domain transactions ;
there is no incoming mail to these servers.
-on a daily basis we average successful delivery of 12,000 messages between
11:00 PM and 1:00 AM ; it is designed to deliver outgoing email sequentially
rather than in parallel.
-runs an enhanced version of Sendmail.
-deployed in a single server environment whose content is provided by
multiple application servers.

Due to last week's delivery problems, we have significantly modified how
messages are handled in the Sendmail queue and have verified that the
delivery performance has increased significantly.

Tucows EMail Service
====================
This system is specifically designed to support a large volume of email
accounts.

Some key details about this system :

-Tucows Corporate email uses our new E-Mail system as the exclusive mail
service provider.
-deployed in a multi-server environment.
-runs a commercial email application that supports a multi-server
environment, clustered and fully redundant.
-business processes, service & features are in active development.

I hope this clarifies things a little. Although I can see your concern from
the outside looking in I have to assure you we are providing a high end
email product at a bargain considering some of the services we provide
without limitation. If you are interested in hearing more about our service,
please go to http://resellers.tucows.com/opensrs/e-mail/webcast to sign up
for the Webinar we are doing Wednesday February 19th (Yes, that's the day
after tomorrow! :) at 1PM Eastern Standard Time. It is FREE, so there is NO
reason why everyone shouldn't attend who is not busy. Yes that is a
gratuitous guilt trip I am throwing, hey, we worked very hard on it! ;)

Thanks,

Peter Ejtel

Weren't you guys the ones with more than 17,000 outgoing messages in your
mail
queue just last week, so that retrieving a simple password took several
hours?
You're going to have to come up with one heck of a list of reasons to trust
email to Tucows.
