It all depends I guess.  I'm one of those idiots that goes without a virus
scanner, and I haven't been infected in 4-5 years now.  The last time I was
infected, I was running an updated virus scanner, but the virus I got hit
with wasn't in the definitions yet.  At this point, I don't see it as being
required, most viruses are pretty easy to spot a mile away.

That being said, I don't open crap people send me.  That, and staying
updated and running a relatively secure W2K box, is the key in my mind.
