Hi Todd, 1) Email Forwarding ---------------- Unfortunately as with any email system, in order to have a domain use email on it's own it would need to be activated in some type of email system, and for ours it would require at least one pop box per domain in order to function. Once a domain is activated for email, this could be accomplished through email forwarding, which we plan to release in the June timeframe. If the user did choose to purchase one pop box for every domain (Not necessarily through us), they could POP them into one mail interface using Remote POP, which is found under WebMail Options, Remote POP. If all pop boxes were purchased on our system, then they can accomplish this additionally through the folder sharing option that is available.
2) From Address For WebMail ------------------------ The from address and the display name can be modified under WebMail Options - General Settings - Message Creation Preferences - From Address. You may change the display name to the sales@ reference you indicated, but the headers would still come up as the pop box email address and any replies would go to the pop box email address. Another option is to change the from email address (Not the Display Name) where you can insert the mailbox name you would like to indicate the email came from. The only complication is that this also serves as the Reply To Address and if there are no catch-all or alias setting for that specific reply to address then the mail will be lost. If the person who received the message tries to reply to it, the Reply To Address must be either a) a valid email address b) have an alias set-up to handle this mailbox name or c) there must be a catch-all set for the domain. Both of these settings will be applied to all mail sent from the mailbox. So the mailbox user would be required to modify this From Address each time they wished to address an email from a different person (e.g., [EMAIL PROTECTED] versus [EMAIL PROTECTED]). >From and Reply To Address For Email Clients (E.G. Outlook) ------------------------------------------- Within most email clients, you can identify a different From Address and Reply To Address. So for example, the From Address could be [EMAIL PROTECTED] and the Reply To Address could be [EMAIL PROTECTED] Again though, the Reply To Address must either be real, set as an alias or be captured by a catch-all. Let me know if you have anything further. Thanks, Peter Ejtel Sales Manager Tucows Inc. [EMAIL PROTECTED] -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of TMJ Sent: Tuesday, February 25, 2003 9:35 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: More questions about email Howdy, I have a number of customers who have multiple domains registered through us. They are interested in email accounts but don't really need (or want) to purchase a POP box for each domain. Say, Joe has 5 domains with us and wants to be able to get mail at [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], etc. all from the same POP account. Is there any way we could set this up? Also, it doesn't look like there's any way to configure outgoing mail from a alias identity in the webmail interface. E.g., to send a reply to a customer from a "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" address instead of "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" Most webmail interfaces have the ability to set multiple "From" addresses. Could that be implemented? Thanks, Todd
