Yes, but OpenSRS has also always made clear that the client suite was a SAMPLE client suite, illustrating how to implement the document protocols for interacting with their systems. Actually deciding how to implement the protocols has always rested on the resellers' shoulders. Some choose to use the sample client scripts without modification, others have implemented their own solutions, using only the OpenSRS perl modules to simplify development. Others have completely rolled their own, or integrated the protocol calls into their existing systems.
