These issues are TuCow'isms and that is exactly why we are discussing them
here.

.UK domains function backwards as compared to the majority of domain TLDs.
Most domains expire unless renewed, UK domains renew unless expired. Most
other TLDs can be renewed any day prior to expiry; UK domains can not.

Our customers have come to expect certain behaviors with respect to
renewals. We hope that these TuCow'isms can help to "mask" the peculiarity
of UK domains and allow them to approach renewals of UK domains with the
same mindset as renewals of the domains within their portfolio.
