Thanks, all. I guess I screwed myself, then. I recall reading about this
situation now on this list, but wasn't paying close enough attention. I've
emailed Netsol, but I don't expect much luck either. We'll probably end up
issuing a charge-back on the credit card used for the renewal.
If we ever get the dough back, at least we'll have saved $25.

This is a byproduct of the screwy rules that the registry uses.
If a domain is transferred within 45 days of a renewal, then the renewal
year is removed (and refunded to the original registrar) and a year is added
back for the transfer.
Good luck getting your money back for the lost year from Network Solutions
(but trust me, they got their money from the Registry).
I've gotten in the habit of advising customers who renewed an expired domain
at NetSol to mark their calendar and not try to transfer it for at least 60
days.

We just transfered a domain from Network Solutions to OpenSRS and itappearsthat the additional year of registration hasn't been added.able
The history of this domain is that it was allowed to expire by the domain
registrant this past June 11th. I went into the Netsol web site and wasto pay for the domain's renewal for one year on about June 19th. Thedomainwas reinstated that night. We then transfered the domain to OpenSRS onJune26th. I believe the transfer was completed early on the 27th. The domain
expiration currently appears as 10-Jun-2004, rather than in 2005.
Explanation?
Thanks, Jim
