The good news is that your posting to the list has sparked a lot of interest over here. A number of people here at have dropped by my desk today, asking what can be done about the client situation. The developers and I will be meeting to discuss what can be done, both in the short and long term.

While they're all excited, can you slap someone? Is it really necessary to have three or more different placeholder names for the path to config files?

<path-to-config>
<path_to_conf_files>
<path_to_conf_file>

They're my co-workers and can booby-trap my chair when I'm not looking. What say I just gently tweak them?

As for the different placeholder names, I'm going to suggest some refactoring is in order...
