Maybe I'm missing something about what your saying but I this is how the perl scripts from OpenSRS work and always have (disclaimer: I haven't got the most recent version but I assume I'd see an uproar on the mailing list if they changed this). First you get the page that asks you the name to be registered, the scripts check availability and then ask for registrant details if the name's available. Even if they didn't, the API still allows you to write a script that does this.

What i'm asking about is implementation into the quickstart gui interface, where scripting by resellers is not required.
