I see it the other way around; it's an equitable arrangement.

Customers are paying a monthly fee for a content development and management
tool. If they aren't happy with our service but like their web site, they
*can* leave and take it with them for a one-time, minimal, fee.

That is terrible!  Is this TUCOWS business philosophy?  "We don't screw
customers, we just tie them up so our resellers can screw them."

We maintain customer loyalty by offering quality service at a fair price -
not by tying them up.  Our customers are free to terminate our service
agreements at anytime  - no term contracts.  If we can no longer provide
value to a customer, we would prefer to get a good referral than to try to
force them to do business with us.

We will never sell that product is it's current form.
