Now, do I misunderstand something, or is the above thinking correct?

Well, users A and B will have different admin contact addresses, right?

Right. Actually that IS the problem.

(Unless user A *is* user B or otherwise has access to B's e-mail for the
purposes of authorizing the initial transfer request).

Also, it is up to A while making the transfer as to whether he wants to
create an isolated profile for the domain, or throw it into an existing
one, or whatever.

Yep, but how do I explain this to user B? I mean he gets confused, because a "transfer order" looks exactly like a "register order"! So user B *thinks* that if he HAS TO provide his contact data, then these data WILL BE used after the domain is transfered. (Why would he need to provide those data otherwise?? I also think this _sounds_ a logical question.) But no, the "old" data is (correctly) retained. So what user B experiences is that "alien" contact details show up right in his profile.

No serious problem here, it's just I am afraid that whatever explanation I put up on the transfer page, it will not get read. Users do not read, they push buttons and click links.
