Hello,

I renewed my only .co.uk domain today, and noticed in the OpenSRS
confirmation:

"Please note that due to the renewal process at the .UK registry,
the whois information for renewed UK domains will remain unchanged
until 6-8 weeks after the old term expires."

Is this for real? That's pretty pathetic, that the WHOIS doesn't
reflect the renewal immediately, and the domain name would actually
show up as being expired for 6-8 weeks. How would a registrant be able
to confirm independently that a renewal was even submitted, to ensure
it doesn't get deleted (or detagged)? It's not some banana republic
ccTLD, either.... .co.uk is one of the largest and in what is
considered an "advanced" country.

Sincerely,

George Kirikos
