RFC 2822 is clear on what does not belong in the From field. From Section 3.2.6: In all cases, the "From:" field SHOULD NOT contain any mailbox that does not belong to the author(s) of the message. Furthermore, it has this to say about what goes in the Reply-To field: When the "Reply-To:" field is present, it indicates that the mailbox(es) to which THE AUTHOR [emphasis mine --RP] of the message suggests that replies be sent. So no, it is not fine. Unless you want to assert that [email protected] is my mailbox or that the Mailman program at blu.org is the author of this message then said program should not be writing or rewriting my From and Reply-To fields. Or you can ignore RFC 2822. -- Rich P. _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.blu.org/mailman/listinfo/discuss
