I hope that I understand your remark - you are referring to platform
based icons? For example, Microsoft Windows that provides a set of
default icons? If yes, then these native themes (independent of the
platform) are not sufficient, since open/save/whatever cover only very
few functionality available in LibO.

As long as we keep the current approach (toolbar = icons = functions =
many of them), there is a need for a built-in theme that - at least -
covers all functions. Indeed, there are some other themes that have been
made available to better fit on other platforms - like the great Tango
Icons Set (also requiring additional icons to match the tons of
functions in LibO).

I hope I got your comment right ... otherwise, please correct me.
