So then, I cleared my document down to just a label at the top.
I had not yet saved it, and then clicked the HTML view icon on the
toolbar at the top.
I was prompted to save it as HTML as expected.
I did, then got a cryptic message box saying that the document had not
been completely saved, no further explanation (image attached
libre_office_incomplete_save.png).
This HTML showed (below) with no labvel, label text, or fonting I had
applied to the label, but an empty SPAN instead.
The charset=windows-1252 setting, I'll probably want to change the
default for new document (HTML and other) to UTF-8
I then hit the HTML source button again and my label was still there
with my text in side it (as in attahced PNG
libre_office_incomplete_save.png).
I went back to HTML source, but no text within the span etc .. missing.
This time when I clicked asgain to go out of HTML source to WYSIWYG
editing, I came in to a plain wordprocessor looking environement (PNG
attached libre_office_where_have_web_tools_gone.png) no HTML or form
tools now showing, my grid layout had dissapeared etc nothing
specifically for web work. And now my label at the top completely
gone!
Though the document stiill showed as HTML in the second part of the
status panel at the bottom (image attached).
