Victor, the term for what you just did is "non sequitur" I have no particular disagreements with the points you are making which are interesting. They are not directly related to the discussion at hand. The only way to consider them connected would be to blatantly ignore what I or others are saying and respond only to something else we are not saying. Functional societies do not come to exist if people do not meet each other in some middle-ground where they can accept terms.
It's quite ironic that you would reply to my private e-mail about your privacy disclaimer by sending to the entire list and quoting my e-mail. The essence of my point was: to achieve effective discourse with other people, it helps to acknowledge their views and feelings. It is nice to be comfortable in and of yourself, but if you refuse to allow any vulnerability or any amount of concession, then you will miss out on many of the benefits that come from developing more productive relationships with others. You may be as you wish on your own, but if you engage with a larger community, it will never be effective to simply demand that everything go according to your terms. If you made some effort to show good will here, I suspect your contributions will be better received. And I believe you do indeed have valuable contributions to offer. If any of this is simply a matter of misunderstanding, then it is the duty of all sides to clear that up. And if any side is apathetic about clearing up misunderstandings, then that side need not continue engaging.
