for me the distinction is that free culture and code is about making something positive, constructive. and that the generosity of that making has a ripple effect making it possible for other people to make as well
i think positioning that kind of making and constructive way of being does not need to be positioned as opposing anything it is what it is. i feel very lucky that it is. i am not a bloke and i feel part of it because i use the software. i can make because of the software. media is full of opposition/competition.combat big brother, biggest loser, all kinds of win:lose framing of everything you can think of. what happens if it does not have that kind of structure and it is just a constructive piece of living? best wishes j
